By investing in a cost-effective warehouse based on an insulated tent hall, you can spend more resources on warehouse automation.
Efficient, modern warehouse management now requires automation, which directly affects the efficiency of logistics processes and eliminates errors. The degree of this automation depends, among other things, on the rotation speed of the stored goods.
Many warehouse automation solutions can be adapted to the company’s specific warehouse management and individual requirements.
The obvious advantages of automation are:
- increased efficiency of warehouse processes,
- elimination of errors thanks to the replacement of human labour with automated systems,
- increased safety of people and goods
- reduction of costs related to employment, sick leaves
It is key to entrust the design of the entire warehouse automation system to a professional company that will conduct an analysis of needs and possibilities.
A prerequisite for automation is a functioning product identification system and a system for managing the flow of goods in the warehouse.
The most popular warehouse automation systems are:
automatic shelving, shelf carousels, lift racks, automatic transport systems.
Especially extensive, multi-level automated transport systems improve the speed of order preparations for the clients.
Insulated storage tent halls by Pol-Plan allow for applying practically all warehouse automation solutions. The height of the hall walls (up to 8-10 m) and rope bracing directly under the ceiling may be a limitation in certain applications.
Devices automating warehouse management are successively introduced in SAS warehouses, a nationwide distributor and manufacturer of products and accessories for furniture.
The company’s ten branches located throughout Poland form a logistics network with over 27,000 m2 of warehouse space at its disposal. In Stęszew, the company has recently invested in Pol-Plan’s tent halls, used as warehouses for furniture boards. Two insulated panel halls with pumped roofs are equipped with automatic vacuum lifters. The equipment automatically sorts and stacks the boards, which significantly speeds up the process of order completion for the clients. Tent halls, as well as other SAS warehouse facilities, have walls up to 6 m high, which allows storing panels up to this height and safe work with the use of warehouse lifts.
More insulated tent halls are planned for the next distribution centres, which will also be equipped with automatic vacuum lifters.
Insulated tent halls equipped with automatic vacuum lifters are an example of how warehouse management can be automated in a cost-efficient manner. At SAS, automatic vacuum lifters in the furniture board warehouse speed up the order picking process.
